Get ready to kick off 2024 in style! The city has planned firework displays and festivities across its many districts, with Copacabana Beach being the crown jewel. However, according to Riotur president Ronnie Costa, there are three other official locations where both locals and tourists can begin their New Year celebrations. Keep an eye out for displays in Flamengo in the Zona Sul, Igreja da Penha in the Zona Norte, and select hotels in Barra da Tijuca, Zona Oeste.

In Copacabana, two concert stages have been set up to entertain the crowd that will gather on the beach to enjoy the 12-minute firework display, which will be launched from 10 barges, synchronized to the music performed by a symphony orchestra.

Flamengo will also celebrate the beginning of 2024 with fireworks launched from barges. Concerts and presentations will be held at a stage near Posto 2, featuring DJ Tonny, Grupo DDP Diretoria, Celebrare, and Mart’nália, who will be performing with Moacyr Luz. The samba schools Unidos de Vila Isabel and Beija-Flor de Nilópolis will also be part of the festivities.

In the Zona Norte district of Penha, a stage will be set up in the IAPI area for performances from DJ Daniel Corrêa, Grupo Coisa Séria with Adriano Ribeiro, Orquestra Tupy, and Gustavo Lins. The world-renowned samba school Estação Primeira de Mangueira will also perform. When the clock strikes midnight, fireworks will light up the sky above the Igreja da Penha.

While the Zona Oeste district won't host any concerts, they will still have a firework display at 12 separate locations at shopping centers and hotels in Barra da Tijuca and Recreio. This show is a joint effort between Riotur and the HotéisRio trade union.
